End of May Wishlist

So, it's nearing the end of may (yet another month to fly by) and this means that PAY DAY is nearing! *cheers from all around* I especially love pay day because it means that my 'wish list' soon become an 'own list'. So to share with you, I have a few items that are on my 'wish list'.

1. 'Lasercut Waist Playsuit' from Topshop, priced - £46

I love playsuits and I'm totally loving the colour white at the moment. What better yet than to have two in one?! The lovely colour is very summery and the cut out would help give you a breeze when you're feeling warm.

     - "Tailored playsuit with lasercut waist detail. 98% Polyester, 2% Elastane. Wash with similar colours."

2. 'Stripe Print Satchel' from Topshop, priced - £34

 Unfortunately, my favourite bag - the satchel - is breaking and now is the time to replace it. I found this bag which is 'so on trend' with the monochrome stripe and to add to the awesomeness, it is also a satchel - perfff.

3. 'HORSHAM Geeky Sandals' from Topshop, priced - £20

So cheap and so great. I love summer and anything to do with summer and I feel that these shoes scream, "BEACH". A few straps to hold your feet to the base, but perfect for letting your feet breathe in hot weather.

4. 'Light Blue Polka Dot Culottes' from Newlook, priced - £9.99

Another cheap and super-cute buy that totally shouts, "BEACH". The material is thin and great for summer, it will go perfect with the 'Horsham Geeky Sandals' and white crop top.

 

5. 'Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash' from MAC, priced - £18

This is without a doubt THE BEST mascara I have EVER purchased and used. It is now starting to run out, and I MUST buy this again. Understandable to be put off by the price, but it lasts a good 5-6 months and you only need 2 stroked on each lash and they are already super long and thick. It is an awesome mascara and you'd be crazy not to try it.

 

6. 'Candy Yum Yum' from MAC, priced - £14

I've always wanted a pink lipstick and I feel that this colour looks perff. I already own a few MAC lipsticks and the colours are always great. Unfortunately, you are constantly having to check that the lipstick doesn't dry out (and if so, use Vaseline or just top it up) otherwise, this colour looks pretty and I can't wait to try it out.

 

7. 'Tennis Skirt' from American Apparel, priced- £46

Last but not least, the skirt! This skirt comes in an array of colours, but the colour I'm after is WHITE. As mentioned before, I love the colour white and I've also been after a white skirt for a while. It is very expesnive (it's an expensive shop) but I've heard great things about this skirt! Minus point - it is short and will need shorts underneath it, UNLESS you want to show the world your bum when you bend down.

Farewell, 90210

It has been a while since I last posted (apologies) due to coursework deadlines and the lead up to a music FMP that my class were planning/performing. But now that most of that is out of the way, I will try and keep updating my blog with things that I find to talk to youse about!

To start of, I would like to give my farewell to my favourite show: 90210. Based on rich teenagers living in Beverly Hills, it follows all of them for 5 years, from high school up into adulthood (sort've).

The whole programmes starts with Annie and Dixon Wilson (Dixon is her adopted brother - explains why he is black and his parents aren't) On their way to start their new life in Beverly Hills after moving from Kansas. Throughout the first series, you see Annie and Dixon make a life in Beverly Hills as well as the show introducing you to the other big characters, Naomi Clark, Erin Silver, Adrianna Tate-Duncan, Ethan Ward and Navid Shirazi.

The first three years are based on their time in high school and they tackle many issues and you learn more about the characters and cheer on certain couples (that are forever changing) Ethan Ward leaves after the first series and is later replaced with Matt Lanter who plays Liam Court (extreme hotty - many topless scenes = love).

I'm not going to explain the whole 5 series, that's for you to find out for yourself (which I think you should).

I've grown up watching programmes like The O.C, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and of course, 90210 and now I feel like there are no shows with the similar theme - teenagers maturing into better people whilst showing the problems that they face along the way. Of course, these shows are all based in different areas of America and all including the one couple that everyone cheers for - Marissa and Ryan, Lucas and Peyton, Chuck and Blair (and Dan and Serena) AND Liam and Annie.

What I loved about 90210 is that the storylines are continuously changing, developing and overlapping (so the show is never boring) and the fat that it is always sunny makes me feel happy when I watch the programme and makes me want to be rich and move to Beverly Hills and have a Liam Court of my own - ooft.

Back in the 90's there was another 90210 which then finished in 2000, so who knows, maybe they'll bring it back in 10 years? I do hope so...

If you haven't watched 90210 and are thinking of doing so - I say do. HOWEVER, you will be heartbroken when it finishes (as I am now) and soon have a 90210 shaped hole in my heart and need another similar programme to fix it. COME ON AMERICA, YOU WERE ONCE FULL OF SHOWS LIKE THIS.

All of the characters were portrayed in a great way and the show gives you a chance to love every character. I'm going to miss the sweetness of Navid, the fashion sense of all the girls, the hotness that is Liam Court, the awesomeness of Naomi Clark, everything about Annie and just everything about the show, really. 

So to finalise... Goodbye to 90210 - my favourite show so far.

Today, I'm Radioactive

Title inspired by my favourite band at the moment - Imagine Dragons.

As we've been itching further towards that final goal (University) everyone has had to make big choices... Where they want to go and if they want to go. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to be an actress, I loved acting and the way it can bring you into a new world and you can be away from reality for just that little while. I love the way it made me feel and the way actors as a collective could make someone feel a certain emotion in films or in theatre. But of course, as you grow up, reality hits and the truth is, what I wanted to be was most probably not going to happen. Which is sad.

As much as I love theatres and all that jazz, the only acting that appealed to me was the acting for films. I don't like singing and dancing around all the time nor do I like the acting shows where the actors just talk at you and don't give you a storyline to follow (like a love story or a thriller story). Which, for me, makes it EVEN harder (I mean, who from Luton or anyone we know for that matter is a well known actress? I can't think of anyone...). But then you also have to think... Someone out there has to do it and they can be from anywhere, right?

• Ed Westwick - Hertfordshire

Actors/actresses have to come from somewhere, and why can't one be from Luton? Understandable that this place isn't exactly the place for dreams... But it doesn't stop you from trying.

Having to make the choice for University is hard enough as it is without having the pressure of parents telling you what's wrong about your choices, arse holes who have the opinion that if you don't go to university then there is no point doing anything (grow up you twats) and those who say that because you go to a university that accepts C or below students, you are stupid (i.e. that's not the case).

I understand that I am not ready for university yet as I am still unsure as to what I want to do and I am not going to force myself into going somewhere when I know I will be unhappy. But from having the chance to step back and breathe, I know that I would still love that shot at trying to become an actress (you probably think I'm crazy) and in the mean time, I will still work on fashion and try everything I can to become noticed in what I really want to do - acting.

To Brighten Your Days

MISS VOGUE

Miss Vogue debut // Cara Delevingne cover

"Welcome to our first edition of Miss Vogue. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed working on it" - editors letter introduction to Miss Vogue.


With the big reveal of 'Miss Vogue' (the now 'little sister' of Vogue) back in January, I must say that I was excited to see what the editor would do. The issue is being brought out along with the June issue of Vogue (Kate Moss cover) and is said to be aimed at teenagers who "are still dependent on pocket money" - this seems to be a little untrue, but yet true at the same time. Advertising such things as Topshop and H&M and many other cheaper choices of clothing, but then showing things for us 'youngsters' to buy with prices around £9,000 (for a necklace, may I add) - not the amount of money that us younger people have (unless our mother is the Queen). Of course, this is still a part of Vogue, and showing what amazing designer things that could be bought is something that they would obviously do. I may warn you, although they are showing cheaper alternatives that we can afford, they are not showing any '£5 tops' - so don't get that idea into your head.

Flicking through the pages, I can see that they do make an effort for showing the cheaper (but still fashionable) options that are affordable for teenagers. And don't forget the 'VOGUE PROMOTION' page with Forever 21, where it shows some affordable and nice clothing "inspired by the easy, breezy cool of the Golden State and headlined by ingenue singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira" - Teen Vogue AND a 15% off voucher for Forever 21. 

Not only does it show the great clothes that teenagers can buy, but it shows teenagers/20s (people we ACTUALLY know) wearing great clothes to help inspire us for whatever look it is we are after.

I wont give too much away as I feel that you should be finding things out for yourself (by reading the issue) but to conclude, I'm glad to see Miss Vogue is sticking to the same layout/style (smaller version) of Vogue, and is showing the options that a teenagers would be able to both afford and appreciate. I've seen online that it is not known whether the Miss Vogue issue will carry on, however, I wish it does, as it is fun to read and actually does include some pretty great things.

The Month of May

Unless you haven't guessed already... It's May (cue *gasp*) I'm shocked. Five months into the year already, and yes, closer to Summer (and then Winter, again).

I'm surprised that it is 2nd May and I still have all of my pay (from being paid on the 30th) if you know me - you know it would be gone by now, but alas! I am saving up *shock*. This has, however, not stopped me from wondering around and seeing what great summer things are out there. So I thought I'd share with you the amazing beauties that I have found. I have bought the 'Daisy Bikini' and it is so great. It fits perfectly and covers you up to the right amount - i.e. no nip show. I'm in love with the 'Polka Swimsuit' from Topshop and may just have to buy myself that, too (despite the fact that I am not going on holiday). I thought I'd put the rest on there to show you other great swimsuits out there that may pick you fancy (because they are awesome, after all). I also thought that I'd add the playsuit because it's always nice to have something easy&breezy to wear over the top of swimwear whilst at the beach.

Summer Dress

 And finally, I give you the summer dress. I chose this dress for this bit because this is the best dress that I have found (so far). It has a lovely opening around the waist which helps keep you cool, the material is a lovely texture and it's not too thin (nor thick). It is simple and is a great length (depending what size you buy for yourself - I bought age 11) it is only in the Generation part of Newlook, however, the sizes are pretty big.

And don't forget the shoes. Ok, so I saw these and thought that they were surprisingly pretty, I tried them on and DADAAA! They're so great on. Shockingly (considering they're wooden) they're actually very comfortable and they go with so many things. I must say, though, that the bottom is very slippy and does need to be rubbed on gravel to make them less slippy. Other than that... They're perfect.
