Turning 18

Alas, I am finally 18! And it has been a very busy few days. I had my party on Saturday 17th August (Hollywood theme - post coming soon) and then my birthday on the Sunday - which was pretty good!

THEN the thing I have been waiting for *drum roll* MY TATTOO! ON THE MONDAY! I have to admit - I was pretty nervous on the lead up to it but after a while the feeling did fade.

As you can see, I got two tattoos (cost me £50 plus the £20 deposit) and I got them done at Red Inc. I love them so much! They're super awesome and they were done so well, I can't stop looking at them! I've heard great things about Red Inc and I know I'll be one of those who give the place compliments, too.

Tuesday:
On Tuesday, I went to London with my mother to watch THE WOMAN IN BLACK *oOOooOOooOoo* - I did enjoy it and it definitely was jumpy in places, however, I wish it could've been more jumpy. I do prefer the film, but the idea of two men doing a full performance and still managing to keep the audience interested = GOOD JOB.

Unfortunately, whilst there I didn't buy many things - boo. I did, however, buy a scrapbook from Paperchase, lip scrub, bath bombs and a bath bomb holder from Lush and a LOVELY lace Kimono from NEWLOOK. (pictures and links will come in a different post... Coming soon).

Everything that I have recently bought will be put onto a separate post, so keep an eye out! And to end a good week, I shall be going out and getting pissed (as that is a part of being 18, after all).

 

Starting a New

On the upcoming of my 18th, I have decided that it is time to stop moping around/letting go and that it is actually time to take a stand and at least attempt to do something with my life (those who know me know I can be quite lazy).

Nearing the end of college and throughout the summer period, I have had a very strong 'what is the point' attitude towards life and that has affected the way that I think/do/act/etc... Which explains the lack of posts last month and the lack of interest that I was having towards making myself look presentable as a person (I actually look like a troll when not trying) and the lack of interest I was having with fashion/acting/films/blogging.

Now that I am nearing the end of my (what feels like years) of being 17 and am finally joining the world of 'adulthood', I feel that it is about time that I start looking after myself properly and actually start trying for things I want. And from recently watching 90210 from scratch, I have decided that my best way to succeed is to have the 'Naomi Clarke' attitude (this does, however, exclude some traits of hers).

For me, turning a new year of age is where the whole 'New Year, new me' thing applies... Not on New Nears (I have odd views in comparison to everyone else). Therefore, after I turn 18, everything I have spoken about in the above will then soon hopefully be taken into action and I will start to work on my 'adult self'. As an addition to this, I have decided to take a route of making YouTube videos of fashion and lifestyle - pretty much exactly what I do on here, but on a recording.

Catastrophe Cosmetic

With high hopes that I will find something to help battle the war zone that is going on around my face, I walk in, head held high, into the coolest shop - Lush.

Whilst looking at the face masks, I wonder which would be best for helping my skin within such short time (I don't want to be spotzilla on my birthday).

I have previously purchased two of their face masks:
Cosmetic Warrior - "This is the front line of defence for spot-prone skin." - Lush site.
BB Seaweed - "Honey, seaweed and aloe vera to soften and soothe. Olive oil to moisturise.  Fresh rose petals and rose absolute to reduce redness. Rosemary oil to regenerate the skin. All of this is held together with kaolin, ground almonds and millet flakes – so when you wash this off you are also gently exfoliating and removing dead skin." - Lush site.

After previously hearing about 'Oatifix', I thought that it would be a good buy, however, after talking to a shop assistant, I bought 'Catastrophe Cosmetic'

*goes home and tries out the face mask*

I don't know whether it is because I'm convinced that it's going to work that made me think it did - but wow. The moment I took off the mask, my face looked bright and healthy, it felt soft AND after a while, my spots started to shrink down AS WELL AS redness going down.

The product is meant to be used two times a week, so before my birthday I should be able to get two more uses out of it and boy - it looks like it's going to do the trick.

So if you're starting to break out and you need your spots gone in short time (i.e. a week) then I DEFINITELY recommend this product. The smell isn't my favourite, but it isn't overpowering and the coverage on your face is great! You only need to leave it on for 5-10 minutes and then wash it off and WOLLAH! You're on the road to better looking skin.

Hollywood Style

Shopping for a party can be hard (depending on what kind of party) there are those 'social gatherings', where you still would like to look nice, but go for more of a comfortable look - i.e shorts, top and flats. Then you have your 'dress nicely parties' where you would upgrade to a pair of heels and maybe a skirt or dress. Then you have the themed/dress up parties.

Themes that are to do with dressing up as anything (spiderman, a monk, a penis, etc...) can be quite easy, however, themes with more thought - Hollywood (the difficult theme I chose) can be quite a challenge. For the boys, it is easy (just simply pop on a suit) but for girls... it is a whole other story, "Is this not 'Hollywood' enough?", "Is this too short?", "Is this too 'casual party'?" The questions go on and on and on.

So, if you have a wedding/party/red carpet event/prom or just want to buy a really nice dress, then I will show you a range of different dresses (because dresses are a MUST for a Hollywood theme) that I have found and think are pretty cool!

HELLO AUGUST

Alas, it is August *shocked faces from all* which means it is only 4 months till Christmas and the well known saying, "this year has gone so fast" is popping up on Twitter. As it may be sad for some, it is a great month for me because that means it is not too long until I finally turn 18 - woo!

I have been very good for two months on the whole 'not spending thing' but as we are now in August, I'm starting to feel 'shopping blues' and therefore I have created this small 'wishlist'.

I haven't actually found much that I like recently, which totally sucks because I love finding new clothes and wearing the crap out of them. When I do find a load of things I want, you will be the first to know.
